About The Position

Aluminum Precision Products (APP), an international manufacturer of aluminum forgings, is seeking a Production Lead to assist the Supervisor in directing assigned work activities at a manufacturing site. This is a working Lead position: in addition to instructing, directing, and informing employees about their work, the Lead continues to perform their regular job duties. The role supports employee training, production flow and efficiency, safety, quality audits, and corrective actions as requested.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in a production environment.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and exceptional follow-through.
Effective oral and written communication skills, including communication with customers, management, and employees.
Basic knowledge of chart and graph interpretation.
Knowledge of production equipment and workflow processes.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Ability to assist and lead others.
Ability to understand instructions and safety procedures.
Good attendance and no verbal or written warning within the past year.
For work requiring access to ITAR- or EAR-controlled information, must meet the stated U.S. person eligibility criteria or be eligible to obtain required authorizations.

Responsibilities

Instruct and direct employee work activities in assigned areas.
Track work in progress and regularly communicate with co-workers, Leads, Supervisors, and Managers as needed.
Assist with training and work with the Supervisor to direct production personnel.
Maintain knowledge of Company policies and procedures, and comply with APP safety rules, company policies, and the code of conduct.
Assist with corrective action activities as requested.
Assist with Customer, Internal, NADCAP, and AS 9100 audits as required.
Report equipment or facility defects to a Supervisor or Manager.
Promptly report accidents and injuries according to APP safety policy and take accountability for APP safety initiatives.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Take ownership of Company KPIs and Cultural Beliefs.
Continue to perform regular job/work functions and duties as a working Lead.
Provide job cross-training when and where necessary.
Explain the use of tools, equipment, and production processes to new personnel.
Help ensure operating efficiencies are met and production remains on schedule.
Perform other duties as instructed by the department manager.
Maintain an acceptable attendance record and operate in a drug-free workplace.
