About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Production Lead to oversee key production equipment, provide training, and support troubleshooting efforts in a manufacturing operation. The role leads a team toward production goals and helps ensure safe, high-quality, efficient operations. The rotating schedule is Friday through Sunday one week and Thursday through Sunday the next, from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

Requirements

• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, including machine monitoring, training, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read production schedules.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Must be self-motivated and able to respond quickly to changes while paying close attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safe operating practices involving lock-out/tag-out programs and food safety.
• Experience with general mechanic tools such as Allen wrenches and screwdrivers.
• Demonstrated ability to operate production and data entry equipment.
• Must follow personal and food safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Strong commitment to company values.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience, especially in food production, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide the team toward goals for safety, quality, production, and cost.
• Operate and maintain key production equipment, including fryers, packaging machines, seasoning machines, printers, and labelers.
• Work with Maintenance to troubleshoot and resolve production equipment issues.
• Train new and existing team members to qualify them to operate equipment effectively.
• Help execute the shift production schedule, including start-ups, changeovers, and shutdowns.
• Monitor product quality and ensure food safety and GMP-related tasks are followed.
• Provide coverage for vacancies and critical job positions as needed.
• Coordinate with machine operators, maintenance staff, and supervisors to keep operations running smoothly.
