About The Position

This individual is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Fireladder Production department in the absence of the Fireladder Production Manager. This position requires knowledge of each position within the department and the specific job functions of each. The Production Lead can perform each job in the department and various job functions within the department when not actively functioning as the stand-in manager. This position is the Production Manager’s go-to person and must be able to effectively communicate with both employees and other Managers. This position is responsible for ensuring production goals and quality standards are met on a continual basis. This position is responsible for properly administering Company policies and ensuring compliance with required standards for work orders and labor laws within the Fireladder Production Department.

  • Operate a crane for use in lifting materials and work items off the tables
  • Proper and accurately read a tape measure down to 1/16th inch increments
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience, supervision responsibilities required
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16”
  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to utilize hand tools effectively
  • Ability to read a tap measure down to 1/16”
  • Forklift experience

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day oversight of the Fireladder Production department in the absence of the Fireladder Production Manager.
  • Know each position within the department and the specific job functions of each.
  • Perform various job functions within the department when not actively functioning as the stand-in manager.
  • Effectively communicate with both employees and other Managers.
  • Ensure production goals and quality standards are met on a continual basis.
  • Properly administer Company policies and ensure compliance with required standards for work orders and labor laws.
  • Work with co-workers and management.
  • Work in a safe manner.
  • Work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice.
  • Work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift.
  • Work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer).
  • Ensure aluminum bins are emptied.
  • Ensure wood bins are emptied.
  • Ensure inside and outside trash cans are emptied.
  • Unload lumber trucks.
  • Load daily trucks with outgoing freight, including late trucks.
  • Move crates and skids in crating area as needed.
  • Update production boards.
  • Get paperwork to and from the shipping office.
  • Stay moving on the shop floor to promote a steady work pace in everyone.
  • Ensure back gate is locked in the absence of crating personnel.
  • Be aware of non-inventory items such as; wood, cardboard, shrink-wrap film & vents, staples, banding material, band seals, gulf wax, tape measures, Sawzall blades, Dawn dish soap, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
