About The Position

DISHER is currently partnering with the largest contract food manufacturer in North America producing and packaging convenience, baked, refrigerated, and frozen foods, as well as nutrition bars, for many of the world's premier brands. With 27 facilities across the U.S, they handle end-to-end commercialization, research and development, food production, and packaging for major consumer brands. The production team lead will supervise daily line operations and employee activities, ensure compliance with specifications and documentation, and drive continuous improvement while serving as the main communication link between management and floor workers. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision yet be flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly to understand work instructions, safety guidelines, document issues, and communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production reports such as product usage, packaging, lot tracking, labor tracking, waste control, daily worksheets, and any forms deemed necessary by the Production Manager and Production Supervisor.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to enter data into computer programs.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily line operations and employee activities.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications and documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the main communication link between management and floor workers.
  • Oversee pre-op and/or tear down depending on shift.
  • Coordinate lines set-up.
  • Review production issues, production schedule orders and product specifications.
  • Work with other departments to prevent downtime.
  • Train and direct 12-40 employees.
  • Lead continuous improvement plant wide.
  • Assign personnel to work stations and give direction.
  • Provide associate training as needed.
  • Recommend corrective actions for non-compliance to supervisor.
  • Responsible for specification compliance.
  • Responsible for documentation and legible record keeping for line, including, but not limited to, lot tracking, waste, quality checks, product usage, production and standards.
  • Cross train in all lead areas related to production and packaging.
  • Work safely at all times.
