About The Position

The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing a production line, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and leading a team of operators. This role involves training, monitoring performance, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Production Lead plays a crucial part in ensuring the consistent production of high-quality food products while following all established procedures and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
  • Strong Math and Reading Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • 1-3 years of prior manufacturing experience (food manufacturing is a plus)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes
  • Experience leading a team
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use mobile apps
  • Ability to follow written instructions in English
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and quick learner
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stack, and/or carry pans, ingredient containers, etc. for extended periods.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights using stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with using an SAP based bar code scanner and system is preferred but not required; will train.

Responsibilities

  • Trains new line operators on job-specific tasks and equipment SOPs.
  • Verifies line operators' ability to perform assigned tasks accurately.
  • Leads huddle meetings to update the team on performance and areas of concern.
  • Inspects equipment before starting the line and documents observations on checklists.
  • Ensures consistency in all doughs by adjusting processing equipment to meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Documents lot numbers, raw dough temperatures, and fat percentages, communicating deviations to the production supervisor.
  • Performs on-line bake-offs and verifies results against quality standards.
  • Reports accidents or maintenance issues to the production supervisor.
  • Operates various high-speed and/or high-tech processing and packaging equipment following standard operating procedures.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots machinery or equipment operation problems, partnering with maintenance technicians.
  • Calibrates processing and packaging systems as required.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area during production.
  • Performs changeovers and end-of-run cleans, including equipment disassembly and reassembly.
  • Logs downtime and maintenance issues into the CMMS system for continuous improvement.
  • Follows established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods.
  • Performs quality control tests to ensure dough meets standards.
  • Reports issues or suggestions to improve quality performance or the working environment to the production supervisor.
  • Performs daily GMP checks to ensure team compliance.
  • Follows company safety policies and practices.
  • Prioritizes safety in daily activities.
  • Understands and follows Lock Out Tag Out SOPs.
  • Reports unsafe acts or conditions to the production supervisor.
  • Understands cleaning chemicals and their handling procedures.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and sanitary working environment.
