About The Position

The Production Lead Person performs essential mill operations with a consistent focus on safety, quality, and service. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and includes operating production and receiving systems, monitoring production goals, maintaining equipment, completing required documentation, and supporting safe and efficient facility operations. The position is full-time, regular, hourly non-exempt, and based in Turlock, California, on the night shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and carry it up to 75 feet.
Basic computer skills, including the ability to perform basic operations using Windows, Word, and Excel.
Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Ability to apply safe work practices, perform daily safety inspections, and identify safety hazards.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, troubleshoot, and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
Ability to complete written work orders legibly and maintain records to coordinate feed schedules.
Ability to contribute to a positive work environment and demonstrate good organizational skills.

Forklift operation and heavy machinery experience.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety and quality procedures are followed.
Operate the batching system to produce product consistent with customer expectations.
Monitor production and ensure daily production goals are met.
Adjust the production schedule and ensure proper sequencing.
Perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance to maintain adequate mill production.
Communicate downtime promptly to the direct supervisor or manager.
Ensure adequate shift pass-downs using notes.
Operate the receiving system and ensure proper documentation and routing.
Maintain required documentation associated with all departments.
Inspect and maintain the pellet mill by monitoring roll gap and lubrication.
After appropriate training, operate process equipment, including a forklift, loader, and rail car mover.
Perform housekeeping duties throughout the facility.
Work independently in the absence of on-site supervision.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and customers.
Climb ladders up to 100 feet to perform maintenance and inventory duties.
Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Uphold CGMP, Safe Food Safe Feed, and FSMA requirements.
