About The Position

The Production Lead, Kitting plays a key role in guiding and supporting daily operations within the kitting production area. This position is responsible for mentoring and coaching team members, while training both new and existing employees on efficient kitting setup, process flow, and best practices. As a working lead, this role actively participates in production, ensuring all job ticket requirements are met with accuracy and efficiency. In addition, the Production Lead oversees Kitting Line Leads in developing their expertise, serves as a subject matter expert for training, and performs final quality checks prior to shipment. This role also partners closely with Project Managers to ensure jobs are completed successfully, on time, and in alignment with client expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3-5 experience in the printing Industry as a Bindery Operator, Cutter, Folder or Booklet Maker
  • Possess a thorough and organized approach to your work
  • Pay close attention to details on every project
  • Have basic computer skills, including Pace and Google Suite
  • Be self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs
  • Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage your work
  • Complete projects accurately within deadlines, while meeting Company quality standards
  • Apply effective time management and self-management skills
  • Understand and maintain the confidential nature of the company, employee and customer information
  • Be flexible to change
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills including, demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization

Responsibilities

  • Motivate, mentor, coach and train employees for professional development, employee engagement and the creation of a safe and inclusive work environment
  • Work closely with manager, and other shift leadership in prioritizing and directing department work flow
  • Support safe environment, driving towards 0 OSHA recordables & maintain high quality standards
  • Ensure assembly integrity through continuous monitoring of departmental processes
  • Work closely with Kitting Line Leads as well as other production areas’ leadership in prioritizing and directing department workflow
  • Maintain appropriate levels of supplies to meet production requirements
  • Establish open lines of communication with production floor
  • Ensure training and skills are in compliance with training policy & work to further develop team’s skill
  • Work toward continuous improvement by monitoring efficiency & productivity & implement improvements
  • Steps in as needed to work on lines
  • Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management
