Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
1-5+ years of shop experience as a machinist.
Technical training in shop math, blueprint reading, and GDT is preferred.
8+ years of manufacturing experience.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Strong organizational skills; Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently.

Nice To Haves

Technical training in shop math, blueprint reading, and GDT is preferred to perform the job.

Responsibilities

Participate in all plant safety initiatives, report potentially unsafe conditions, and abide by corporate and local policies.
Actively engage in lean manufacturing principles and techniques, including kaizen events, 5S activities, and continuous improvement.
Manage and prioritize staffing assignments in coordination with the Production Supervisor and other Leads to meet customer demand and production schedules.
Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure adherence to procedures and quality requirements.
Report quality, process, equipment, material, and labor issues to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Provide daily job status information to the Manufacturing Supervisor for the production meeting.
Work from drawings, sketches, and specifications to complete machining operations.
Perform machine set-ups to achieve close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of machined parts.
Update and monitor Production Status boards.
Attend and contribute to Tier board meetings.
Collaborate with other departments (Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering) to resolve issues.
