Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
1-5+ years of shop experience as a machinist.
Technical training in shop math, blueprint reading, and GDT is preferred to perform the job.
8+ years of manufacturing experience.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.

Responsibilities

Participate in all plant safety initiatives, report potentially unsafe conditions, and abide by corporate and local policies.
Actively engage in lean manufacturing principles and techniques, including kaizen events, 5S activities, and continuous improvement.
Work with the Production Supervisor and other Leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met.
Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, material, and labor to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Provide daily job status information to the Manufacturing Supervisor for the 9:00 a.m. production meeting.
Work from drawings, sketches, and specifications in completing various machining operations.
Perform machine set ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of machined parts.
Update and monitor Production Status boards.
Attend and contribute to Tier board meetings.
Collaborate with other departments (Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.) to resolve issues.
