About The Position

The Production Lead I is responsible for overseeing pre-operation and/or tear-down depending on the shift, coordinating line setup, and reviewing production issues, schedules, and specifications. This role involves working with other departments to prevent downtime, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and training/directing a team of 12-40 employees. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to maintain accurate documentation. This role is expected to cross-train in all lead areas related to production and packaging and requires working safely at all times, spending approximately 95% of the shift on the floor. A flexible schedule is required.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Three to six months related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee pre-op and/or tear down depending on shift.
  • Coordinate lines set-up.
  • Review production issues, production schedule orders and product specifications.
  • Work with other departments to prevent downtime.
  • Train and direct 12-40 employees.
  • Lead continuous improvement plant wide.
  • Assign personnel to workstations and give direction.
  • Provide associate training as needed.
  • Recommend corrective actions for non-compliance to supervisor.
  • Ensure specification compliance.
  • Responsible for documentation and legible record keeping for line, including, but not limited to, lot tracking, waste, quality checks, product usage, production and standards.
  • Cross train in all lead areas related to production and packaging.
  • Work safely at all times.
