About The Position

Smartpress is a fast-growing online printing service looking for an experienced Fabrication Lead to join their team. This role involves mentoring and coaching employees in areas like bindery, fabricating, cutting, or kitting. The Fabrication Lead will train new and existing employees on efficient machine set-up and process flow, becoming a subject matter expert on new equipment. While this is a working lead role requiring the completion of job ticket work, it does not include management responsibilities such as hiring or performance reviews. The lead will provide feedback to the manager on team member skill development. This position is also responsible for the final quality check before shipment and acts as a liaison with CSR and managers to ensure customer satisfaction within specified parameters. The shift available is Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Thorough and organized approach to work
  • Close attention to details on every project
  • Basic computer skills, including Pace and Google Suite
  • Self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage work
  • Ability to complete projects accurately within deadlines, while meeting Company quality standards
  • Effective time management and self-management skills
  • Understand and maintain the confidential nature of company, employee and customer information

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct a team of peers and temporary staffing with clear communication and direction.
  • Evaluate workflows to create work standards while creating efficient and effective processes.
  • Use various fabrication techniques to assemble the product accurately.
  • Maintain specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions and troubleshooting processes.
  • Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures to meet Company standards.
  • Assist with training and development of our employees and temporary workforce.
  • Mentor and coach employees working in specific areas of responsibility.
  • Train new and existing employees on efficient machine set-up and process flow.
  • Complete applicable work on the job ticket and follow and adhere to specific job requirements.
  • Perform the last quality check before shipment to customers.
  • Act as a key liaison with the CSR and managers to ensure job completion within customer parameters.
