About The Position

McGard LLC is seeking a highly talented and motivated Production Lead Assistant to join their dynamic team. McGard has been a trusted name in the automotive industry for over 60 years, specializing in manufacturing high-quality, precision-engineered automotive security products and components. This role is for the 1st Shift (6:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday) or 2nd Shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Monday-Friday), with a pay range of $20-25/hr and a 10% shift differential for the 2nd shift.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems to access production data, reports, work instructions, and other supporting documentation.
  • Must be aware of and comply with related IATF/ISO procedures, as applicable.
  • This position requires an employee to work their regularly scheduled shift; ability to work overtime & weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directs subordinate personnel in the task of inspection, assembly, or packaging of parts when the Lead is unavailable.
  • Ensures the achievement of continuous improvement within area of expertise and business areas to remain at the forefront of meeting Company objectives and proactively satisfying customers.
  • Ensures all required safety classes, trainings, and certifications are completed and maintained within the specific position/department.
  • Is aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of quality objectives.
  • Supports the Lead in ensuring that all subordinates’ work is performed in accordance with specific Work Instructions, Production Work Orders, and/or additional instructional manuals/reference documents.
  • Coordinates that non-conforming components are removed from the department as needed.
  • Helps enforce the use of personal protective equipment/safety procedures regarding co-workers’ daily operation.
  • Assists in the training and educating of coworkers.
  • Develops and monitors departmental metrics to ensure production and production efficiency.
  • Responsible for addressing any quality issues that are generated in the Area of Responsibility (AOR) and coordinates corrective action.
  • Performs production duties as needed.
  • Communicates production concerns, equipment issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Supports shift handoff activities by communicating production status, priorities, and unresolved issues to incoming personnel.
  • Promotes a positive team environment through effective communication, leadership by example, and employee engagement.
