Summer 2027 - Production/Lab Intern
About The Position
This summer 2027 internship introduces the intern to the entire manufacturing process, from procurement and raw-material receiving through pasteurization, filling, packaging, warehouse stocking, and warehouse loading. Lab testing is included at each necessary step. The intern will focus on each stage from procurement of MIP to loading products onto trucks or trailers for delivery to customers. The experience also includes riding along with a local route delivery; shadowing a Merchandising Representative on inventorying, stocking, and ordering; shadowing Finance to observe route settlement and cost accounting; and shadowing Inventory Management.
Requirements
- Be a junior or senior in the fall of 2027.
- Have a degree focus in one of the sciences associated with dairy.
Responsibilities
- Learn the manufacturing process from procurement and raw-material receiving through pasteurization, filling, packaging, warehouse stocking, and warehouse loading.
- Observe lab testing at each necessary step in the manufacturing process.
- Follow the process from procurement of MIP through loading products onto trucks or trailers for customer delivery.
- Ride along with a local route delivery.
- Shadow a Merchandising Representative on a route involving inventorying, stocking, and ordering.
- Shadow Finance to observe route settlement and cost accounting.
- Shadow Inventory Management.
