Requirements

  • 2+ years of kitchen, food production, commissary, or manufacturing experience
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience required
  • Experience in high-volume food preparation environments required
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced production environments with changing priorities
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with plant-based preparation, food production, or batching is a plus
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily production of plant-based meals and grab-and-go items
  • Help coordinate batching, prep execution, packaging, and production timelines
  • Ensure recipes, portioning, labeling, and presentation standards are consistently followed
  • Monitor production flow and assist in troubleshooting operational bottlenecks
  • Step into leadership during manager absences and help maintain smooth daily operations
  • Support on-time production and delivery goals for retail and wholesale operations
  • Serve as a working leader on the production floor by coaching and supporting kitchen team members throughout each shift
  • Help train employees on production procedures, equipment use, cleanliness standards, and food safety protocols
  • Reinforce accountability for speed, accuracy, urgency, and teamwork
  • Assist with shift assignments, workflow delegation, and daily team communication
  • Help maintain a positive, motivated, and solutions-oriented work environment
  • Ensure all sanitation and food safety procedures are consistently followed
  • Monitor prep areas, equipment cleanliness, refrigeration, storage organization, and production stations
  • Assist with temperature logs, labeling accuracy, shelf-life monitoring, and FIFO inventory practices
  • Help maintain inspection-ready standards at all times
  • Quickly identify and address quality concerns or safety risks with team members
  • Assist with inventory counts, ingredient rotation, and supply organization
  • Help minimize waste and maintain efficient product usage
  • Communicate inventory shortages or operational concerns to the Kitchen Manager
  • Support receiving and organization of deliveries as needed
  • Ensure proper daily operation of cold-press machines, blenders, mixers, sealers, refrigeration systems, and production equipment
  • Help identify maintenance concerns and communicate repair needs promptly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
