About The Position

This job description outlines the responsibilities, authority, and performance expectations for the Production Inspector role at All-Plastics. The primary function is to sort, inspect, count, decorate (if necessary), and pack plastic parts according to specific instructions. This role requires shift work and involves direct guidance from Team Leads and Process Technicians, with reporting to the Production Manager. The Production Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of manufactured parts and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (exceptions for those hired before 2014).
  • Basic hand and eye coordination.
  • Ability to add, subtract, and multiply.
  • Adequate manual dexterity for trimming with a sharp instrument.
  • Good eyesight and hearing.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must wear personal protection equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Remove parts from molding machine, trim, and perform quality assurance tasks.
  • Count and box manufactured parts.
  • Stack boxed parts (usually less than 30 pounds) on skids for movement to the warehouse.
  • Inspect each part for acceptability per Quality Assurance standards.
  • Trim or reject parts as required.
  • Keep workspace clean and neat for safe operation, and clean thoroughly at the end of the shift.
  • Report any machine or mold damage/malfunction immediately to a supervisor or manager.
  • Report immediately to a Team Lead, Process Technician, or Production Manager if molded parts in a cycle are unacceptable.
  • Assist other team members as directed by the Team Lead.
  • Perform secondary operations on parts as specified by the Team Lead, which may include reclaiming, sorting, salvaging materials, assembling parts, trimming flash or gates, operating granulators, drill presses, milling machines, hand tools, hot stamp equipment, pin hinging machines, sonic welders, and hot melt glue machines.
  • Bring all company-provided tools to work daily.
  • Pass on information concerning the current job to the oncoming shift operator.
  • Perform any work assignment requested by the Production Manager or their representative.
  • Conform to all AP policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
  • Perform other various duties as assigned.
