About The Position

The AMS Media Centre seeks to provide the Queen’s and Kingston community with exceptional media and production services, at competitive prices with trusted quality. The Media Centre offers a wide variety of services including standard and specialty printing, photography, videography, and graphic design. This service is also responsible for the creation and distribution of the AMS Agenda, the Tricolour Yearbook, and Course Packs, as well as executing the rental of hoods and gowns for Queen’s convocation. The Media Centre blends technology with professional customer service to create an energetic, student-run hub comprised of a team of seven managers, several supervisors, and service staff. The contracted hours for this role, under the discretion of the AMS Media Centre Head Manager, may be subject to increase to account for busy periods.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and exercise a working knowledge of all AMS Media Centre equipment and software including camera, sound, lighting, and computer equipment.
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of staff portfolios and support the completion of orders.
  • Send invoices to customers through Shopify as necessary, and ensure they are fulfilled.
  • Accurately monitor, maintain and report inventories, product flow, and weekly order.
  • Undertake Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts at the discretion of the Head Manager, based on service demands with potential increase during high volume periods.
  • Ensure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution when possible.
  • Strive to foster a warm and comfortable atmosphere for customers and coworkers.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to set a positive example for your team.
  • Monitor employee performance to ensure it is being performed to established standards to mitigate disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures, and notify Head Manager of any issues that arise.
  • Respect and adhere to all company policies and procedures and ethical standards.
  • Maintain timely communication with your direct supervisor.
  • Attend and fully participate in all participate in all in person and virtual meetings.
  • Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and attentively.
  • Strive to foster a warm, comfortable and respectful atmosphere for all.
  • Always serve as representative of the AMS and its mission statement.
  • Complete other job duties as assigned.
