This role involves coordinating and overseeing production activities in the press area to ensure customer needs are met, monitoring standardized work, establishing production standards, and monitoring individual performance to achieve area goals. The position also involves planning changeovers, acting as a liaison between Press Techs and Tooling Techs to minimize downtime, preparing and presenting information, conducting evaluations and training for Product Techs, and auditing daily reports. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as department needs change.

Requirements

High school degree / diploma
2 years of post-high school education or combination of education and manufacturing experience
Experience with automated manufacturing, stamping equipment, and press tooling.
Participation in a significant role on the MOS, either deploying practice, training in a tool or methodology, leading problem solving or other applied leadership experience
Proficient computer skills/Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point)
Knowledge of Processing systems
Basic Financing Concepts
Lean Manufacturing (TPS)
Quality Management Systems
Human Development Management
Cross functional leadership
Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Management Fundamentals.
Core Manufacturing Processes (Stamping, Assembly, Painting, Welding, Hydroforming)

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee rotation of production activities in the press area to ensure customer needs are met.
Monitor standardized work is being followed.
Establish production standards and monitor individual tech performance to ensure area goals are met.
Plan ahead changeovers to minimize disruption of production.
Work as a liaison between Press Tech’s and Tooling Tech’s to minimize downtime.
Prepare and present presentations to large and small groups.
Conduct effective evaluations and monitor the skill level of the press room Product Techs.
Conduct training for Teammates.
Gathering of information and auditing of daily reports.
Additional responsibilities as required – this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change.
Proactively improve safety in the plant to achieve plant goal of zero accidents.
Work with maintenance to ensure all equipment has proper P.M. and is safe to operate.
Enforce all area and plant safety procedures.
Work closely with the quality area to create and maintain systems that ensure quality products.
Communicate all potential quality concerns.
Enforce all area and plant quality procedures.
Maintain all customer and TS requirements.
