Supervises the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function. Is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Coordinates the day-to-day operations of a group of employees. "Leading and directing" is usually restricted to assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts and providing technical guidance on more complex issues. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty.
