About The Position
A Production/Manufacturing Wood Framer will be responsible for the production and assembly of prefabricated wood framing components in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in wood framing, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in wood framing, carpentry, or prefabricated construction, preferably in a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and automated machinery used in wood framing or manufacturing.
- Strong attention to quality and precision during the assembly process.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as bending, lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and operating machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot and adapt to challenges in a fast-paced production environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of workplace safety standards and practices.
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively as part of a production team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assemble Prefabricated Components: Build prefabricated wood framing components (such as walls, floors, and roof sections) in a controlled factory environment according to design specifications.
- Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation to ensure accurate assembly.
- Operate Machinery: Use automated and manual machinery, such as saws, nail guns, and presses, to cut, shape, and assemble wood components.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect assembled components for defects or inconsistencies, ensuring all pieces meet production and quality standards.
- Follow Production Schedules: Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
- Material Handling: Measure, cut, and handle wood materials efficiently to minimize waste during the assembly process.
- Maintain Equipment and Workspace: Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of tools, machinery, and workstations to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with production team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to maintain workflow and resolve issues.
- Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of machinery.
- Troubleshoot and Problem-Solve: Address and resolve issues that arise during the manufacturing process to ensure seamless production.
