About The Position
Responsible for ensuring that utility poles meet Koppers quality standards and customer specifications. This role requires the ability to work well with others, possess attention to detail, work in a safe manner, and be willing to work overtime when needed. Since this work is performed outdoors, inclement weather may impact work schedules. Other work-related duties as required.
Requirements
- Willing to be hands-on with physical production.
- Must be able to work in all outside weather conditions (wet, hot, cold).
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities
- Ensuring that utility poles meet Koppers quality standards and customer specifications.
- Operating all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Handling material safely to prevent damage and breakage to product.
- Using various hand tools to position and prepare the poles.
- Using industrial drills.
- Operating chainsaws.
- Cutting flat surfaces on the poles using a portable planer.
- Branding customer information into the poles.
- Performing minor maintenance on the tools and equipment to ensure proper performance.
- Placing steel beams between layers of poles while being loaded into a dry kiln.
- Completing various manual labor tasks.
- Following all safety regulations and requirements for Zero Harm compliance.
