The Production Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift throughout the production area while following all applicable safety regulations.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to attend all job-related training classes to increase job knowledge and improve job performance.
  • Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and customer specifications.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts using calculator.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Data entry helpful.
  • Successful completion of company forklift certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety, food safety, & GMP rules and regulations.
  • Keep work area clean and organized by practicing good housekeeping in the immediate work area.
  • Complete daily inspection of forklift.
  • Ensure all pallets are loaded properly and clearly communicate any issues to supervisor and reload pallets correctly.
  • Ensure product is stocked in the proper location.
  • Ensure trailers are loaded/unloaded using proper method.
  • Ability to use barcode scanner.
  • Ability to communicate, injuries, equipment/product damage and unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.
  • Work in a safe manner by following all company rules and regulations as instructed during job orientation and yearly required safety training.
  • Identify issues that he/she is not able to rectify and communicate them promptly to the Production Manager for assistance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
