About The Position

This role involves operating a forklift in a safe and responsible manner, transporting goods, and maintaining inventory information. The position requires adherence to all operational and safety guidelines, including those provided during forklift license training. The driver will operate both fork and clamp attachments, load and unload semi-trailers, and manage necessary paperwork and scanning equipment. Responsibilities also include lifting and carrying containers and packaging, assisting other departments, and performing other duties as directed. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a safe work environment through inspections and appropriate actions, as well as performing cleaning and sorting duties as needed.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
Work involves continuous lifting, bending, reaching and twisting.
Obtain or be able to obtain a Forklift Driver’s License.
This position requires the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Operate a Forklift in a safe and responsible manner.
Read and understand all operational and safety rules and guidelines provided during forklift license training.
Operate both fork and clamp attachments.
Transport finished goods and raw materials as directed.
Load and unload semi-trailers and complete/assist with the necessary paperwork and communications as directed.
Understand and use all scanning equipment required to perform job.
Maintain and update status of inventory information through scans, written or logged as necessary.
Lift and carry containers as needed.
Lift and carry packaging such as pallets, shrink wrap, etc as needed.
Communicate in a professional manner with supervisor, coordinators & co-workers as necessary.
Assist other departments as needed.
Perform other duties as directed.
Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.
Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts/conditions.
Effectively use verbal and written communications.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary.
Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
