About The Position

Production Foreman AJM Packaging Corporation Detroit, MI Position Overview – AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America’s leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags, is seeking a Production Foreman to add to our growing team! The Production Foreman is responsible for supervising a specific department and/or shift and assist with directly overseeing and participating in all activities related to the effective operation of that department and/or shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Three years or more of supervisory experience preferred.
Five years or more of high-speed manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Must have high-speed manufacturing experience.
Be mechanically inclined with experience using common hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing a department and/or shift in such a manner as to ensure that production machinery uptime and production throughput is maximized – in quantity and quality.
Responsible for supervising staff to include but not limited to: designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work, and providing input for performance appraisals.
Responsible for monitoring equipment to ensure satisfactory performance and continually checking the quality of the finished product. Note any trouble source or issue and take the necessary corrective action(s).
Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.
Be aware of how to track inventory levels of supplies.
Order or make procurement recommendations for any supplies, tools, replacement parts or similar items needed.
Provide continuing oversight and training of staff to increase their levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Complete all other duties deemed necessary by Managers.
Enforce corporate and plant quality standards.
