About The Position

ESPEC North America (ENA) is seeking a Production Floater to join their Production Team. This role offers a 4-day work week with some Friday overtime, no mandatory weekend work, and opportunities for advancement in a clean environment. The Production Floater is responsible for performing specific job duties within any department on the production floor where there is demand, with assignments coming from the Production Manager and potentially lasting from one day to over a week.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience at ESPEC or related experience required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend multiple step instructions (in the English language), short correspondence, and memos.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • On occasion, the use of ladders at elevated heights, harness use may be required.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while assisting employees.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
  • May also be required to perform lock out tag out on energized jobs and will need to understand lock out tag out procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • TIG welding certificate is preferred.
  • ESPEC level 1 brazing experience or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous Problem-Solving training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs at least one job function within multiple departments at a minimum of level 2 (or mid-level) experience.
  • Trains employees on a specific function within the department as assigned by the Group Leader.
  • Assists in setting up production lines with the guidance of the Manufacturing Engineer when required.
  • Responsible for the on-time delivery of products leaving assigned areas.
  • Ensures all finished products meet company and customer specifications.
  • Works closely with Engineering and the Group Leader to resolve abnormal build conditions in the department.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on department equipment when required.
  • Provides build time guidance to Scheduling when necessary.
  • Follows the standard work procedures in the assigned area.
  • Assists with problem solving/PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) on a regular basis.
  • Implements containments for quality defects while problem solving is commencing.
