The Production Expeditor is responsible for providing production status updates, coordinating special instructions, and managing customer service requests. This role involves managing the progress of expedite orders, pull-aheads, and late orders to ensure customer delivery expectations are met. The Expeditor will also assist in the planning process by creating work orders and releasing job orders to production. They will support shop employees with production-related questions and requests, and interact with all production departments to ensure smooth workflow. A basic knowledge of aerospace metal finishing processes and specifications is required. The role encourages operational excellence by challenging existing methods, taking responsible risks, and serving as a role model for innovative thinking and process improvement. The Expeditor will manage schedule changes and conflicts with production leads and managers, coordinate truck deliveries and pickups, and work as necessary during critical times to meet customer deadlines. Maintaining a neat and orderly work area, handling customer-supplied product with care, and understanding ORIZON’s quality standards are essential. The position requires adherence to protocols for quality, on-time delivery, and safety, as well as effective time management to meet production schedules. Professional interaction with co-workers and vendors, understanding internal customers, and maintaining good relations are expected. Prompt responses to inquiries and follow-ups are necessary. The role may involve assisting in other areas or performing other duties as required by business demands, and embracing change for the company's overall success.
