About The Position

The Production Equipment Sanitation Technician is responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitization of production equipment, machinery, and work areas within a cold storage warehouse environment. This overnight role ensures all equipment meets strict food safety, quality, and sanitation standards prior to the next production cycle. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled setting. Temperatures may range from 32°F–45°F or lower depending on department. You must be able to work in this environment for 10-12 hours.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in sanitation, janitorial, warehouse, or production environments preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food manufacturing or cold storage environments
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety standards
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles
  • Experience with industrial sanitation equipment (pressure washers, CIP systems, foamers)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Prior experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform deep cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment, conveyor systems, and processing areas
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment as required for proper cleaning
  • Use approved cleaning chemicals and sanitation procedures in accordance with company and regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA as applicable)
  • Operate sanitation tools and equipment such as pressure washers, foamers, and chemical dispensing systems
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed within designated timeframes to meet production schedules
  • Complete sanitation logs, checklists, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Identify and report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns
  • Follow all safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when required
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors, drains, walls, and surrounding work areas
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance, and production teams to ensure operational readiness
