CNC Operator
About The Position
Kreher Steel, a Tube Supply Company, is hiring a full-time Production Equipment Operator for its Melrose Park, Illinois location. The role is on the second shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The pay range is $18.00 to $24.00 per hour, based on experience. Tube Supply provides steel tube and bar products in alloy, stainless, and carbon for oil and gas applications. The Production Equipment Operator maintains machined parts to required specifications and quality standards, carries out production and quality documentation, and helps ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The operator follows production schedules, supports production startups and shutdowns, communicates improvement opportunities to shift management, and complies with company policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a machine operator.
- Working knowledge of CNC machining operations, processes, programs, and setups.
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong mechanical, mathematical, and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Manual machining experience preferred.
- G-M code experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Maintain machined parts to required specifications and quality requirements.
- Complete production forms and quality control documents.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure equipment is functioning safely, properly, and efficiently.
- Assist with production startups and shutdowns.
- Communicate directly with shift management to identify improvements as needed.
- Follow the production schedule and related documents necessary to meet customer orders.
- Comply with all HSE, QMS, and corporate policies at Tube Supply.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
