We’re currently looking for a Production Engineering intern to join our team. The position will be located at the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant in Smyrna, TN and will be a full-time summer internship starting in May 2026. A Day in the Life: Assist Engineers in the development of new assembly sequence and operator work instructions during production trials for our New QX65, Rogue and P-HEV Models. By performing audits and subsequent documentation revisions as needed. Assist Engineers in creation and validation of Quality Assurance Level documentation for Fastening Torque and Electrical Connections. Work with Engineers in ensuring Process Control Charts and Product Quality Assurance Charts are validated and maintained. Assist in data collection and trend tracking of critical measurement point data. Work with New and Current Model Engineers and Equipment Team Engineers in implementing production aides and equipment for manufacturing safety and ergonomics including drawing creation in AutoCAD/Inventor. Assist with association of Bill of Material to work instructions. Assist with part and process change management during production trials and launch for our New Models. Assist in VR CAD studies associated with our New Model Structure Evaluations. Assist with modeling and creation of 3D prints for workability and quality testing. Who We’re Looking for: Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Mechatronics Engineering. Sophomore standing or above. GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.) Strong organization ability with keen attention to detail. Be self-motivated and willing to challenge yourself to develop your talents and skillsets. Strong communication skills both written and oral. Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Ability to perform work onsite in Smyrna, TN. Nissan is committed to a drug-free workplace.
