About The Position

As a Production Engineer, you will strive to achieve sustainable target performance from process and plant, while ensuring full compliance with complex regulatory requirements. As a Production Engineer, you create chemistry by ensuring that all activities within your area of responsibility are carried out in compliance with BASF regulations, the site Responsible Care Management System, and all relevant State and Federal regulations. You will monitor and analyze plant and process performance, asset effectiveness, and quality data to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions and improvement opportunities. You will provide technical support and direction to the Shift Supervisors and operators in the resolution of plant problems. You will coordinate, support, and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) and environmental regulatory requirements within your area of responsibility. You will also be responsible for programming and performing basic maintenance on distributive control systems, providing support for contractor oversight, management of plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and start up. Additionally, you will create, review, and update operations documentation, and implement training for the operations team when technical changes are required.

Requirements

  • Education (Bachelor's degree or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Knowledge of the chemical industry and OSHA safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards (including PSM – Process Safety Management).

Nice To Haves

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or process development is preferred.

Responsibilities
