About The Position

The Production Engineer is responsible for achieving daily production goals during an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, in an automated manufacturing environment. This role involves utilizing data related to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of line machinery, specifically focusing on planned and short stops, to enhance operator performance. The engineer will identify key bottlenecks and lead improvement projects in areas such as training, process optimization, and the use of tools and jigs to meet daily output and defect count targets. The work environment may include exposure to noise, heat, dust, fumes, and other common hazards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an engineering role required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong safety mindset and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-volume automated assembly line environment is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with MES and QMS systems preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize the safety of all team members and ensure that manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations.
  • Monitor OEE of key line machinery (Stringer, Glass Loader, POE/EVA, etc.) and identify bottlenecks related to planned stops and short stops.
  • Evaluate SOP related to planned stops (Material Loading, machine 5S). Initiate improvement projects related to downtime reduction and operator skill improvement.
  • Evaluate SOP related to short stops (Machine alarms, material issues). Initiate improvement projects related to downtime reduction and operator skill improvement.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing improvement project results.
  • Ensure department readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Additional related duties may be assigned based on business requirements.
