Hybrid

About The Position

The Production Copy Editor is an individual contributor responsible for copy editing, proofreading, editorial quality control, and style consistency for RFx responses and related proposal materials across the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies. This role also maintains editorial resources, templates, and team site materials; resolves copy editing questions; supports final quality reviews; and contributes to continuous improvement of proposal editing standards, tools, and workflows in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • 3 or more years of professional copy editing, proofreading, proposal editing, technical editing, communications, or related editorial experience in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced copy editing and proofreading skills, including strong command of grammar, punctuation, syntax, usage, plain language, and editorial consistency.
  • Experience applying AP style, corporate style guides, brand standards, solicitation-specific instructions, and state-provided requirements.
  • Ability to edit complex Medicaid managed care, healthcare operations, clinical, quality, network, compliance, and technical content without changing meaning, commitments, or technical accuracy.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and large-document review tools, including track changes, comments, styles, templates, cross-references, and version control.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple simultaneous assignments, shifting priorities, fixed deadlines, and high-volume proposal review cycles.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with proposal managers, writers, production staff, graphic designers, SMEs, consultants, and leaders in a matrixed environment.
  • Access to a reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload) to support daily job responsibilities for remote or hybrid roles.

  • Serve as a copy editing resource for proposal teams, resolving editing questions, identifying inconsistencies, advising on style and business writing conventions, and partnering with writers, production staff, SMEs, consultants, and leadership to meet fixed submission deadlines.
  • Support final quality control activities by reviewing response sections, attachments, tables, callouts, graphics text, cross-references, and post-review edits for consistency, completeness, and readiness before print or electronic submission.
  • Maintain internal team site documents, editorial tools, templates, checklists, style resources, and reusable guidance; monitor editing, proposal, healthcare, and AP style trends; and recommend improvements that increase consistency, efficiency, and quality across proposal deliverables.
