KIHOMAC is seeking a motivated Copy Editor Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop familiarity with proposal development processes, templates, writing standards, and document-control practices. The intern will support the Proposal Manager and proposal team by proofreading and copy editing various business development documents, including proposals, responses to solicitations, presentations, and marketing materials. The role involves reviewing documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, readability, formatting, and adherence to style guidelines. Additionally, the intern will assist with checking document consistency, formatting Microsoft Word and PowerPoint documents, and learning to distinguish between different types of editing. The position also includes assisting with maintaining document version control, participating in proposal reviews, and performing final quality-control checks. Collaboration with proposal writers, subject matter experts, and Business Development personnel is key. Interns will learn to identify and question unclear content rather than making independent changes to technical meaning, and will be expected to protect proprietary information. The internship emphasizes accepting coaching and demonstrating progressive improvement, as well as assisting with department administrative duties. Interns are expected to work 15-25 hours per week, with summer interns typically working 40 hours per week. This is an on-site position at the KIHOMAC Byron, Georgia facility.
