About The Position

As a Production Cook for the Food Court at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa, you prepare high-quality food items according to recipes and portion-control standards while supporting an efficient, clean, and safe kitchen. You prepare food for the assigned venue, follow standards for preparation, cooking, portioning, and presentation, and ensure that products are prepared on time and in the quantities specified by the Chef. You store food properly to prevent waste and spoilage and maintain sanitary conditions for kitchen operations, equipment, and tools. The position requires varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of culinary arts, characteristics of multiple cuisines, food science, and nutrition, with the ability to prepare appealing food and meals.
• Knowledge of effective listening techniques and the ability to gather, clarify, and apply verbal information while showing genuine interest in the speaker.
• Knowledge of food safety and foodborne illness, and the ability to carry out sanitary and safe food and beverage handling practices.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for the assigned venue.
• Follow standards for preparation, portioning, cooking, and presentation of menu items.
• Ensure food quality and proper presentation.
• Maintain portion control, follow recipes, and ensure food products are prepared on time.
• Prepare daily quantities of food as instructed by the Chef.
• Store and maintain products properly in coolers, holding cabinets, and other areas to prevent waste and spoilage.
• Maintain cleanliness standards for kitchen operations, equipment, and tools.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Promote the Big Six and encourage a fun, friendly, quick, comfortable, clean, and safe environment.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
