About The Position

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance. The Production Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production planning, scheduling, and workflow coordination to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing operations. This role serves as a critical link between operations, supply chain, and leadership teams, leveraging advanced knowledge of production control systems and methodologies to optimize resource utilization, minimize delays, and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills to manage complex projects and align production activities with strategic business goals.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance.
  • Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams within high-technology environments, with a proven track record of leading multiple projects through to successful completion.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of production control principles, including scheduling, routing, and inventory management practices.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of production control methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze data, create reports, and deliver presentations effectively.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred; alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing operations and/or production scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workload commitments using MRP II technology and principles to prevent or mitigate production delays and scheduling conflicts, requiring a solid understanding of cross-functional interactions within all Maintenance Center departments and business units.
  • Communicate effectively with military and civilian personnel at all levels, including external Marine Corps, DoD, and civilian agencies, applying Total Quality Leadership (TQL) principles to foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain and uphold the organizational integrity and operational effectiveness of the SFC Team.
  • Conduct evaluations and functional studies of positions to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop long-range strategic plans based on Marine Corps directives, communications, and interdepartmental input to support proactive organizational change and planning.
  • Analyze workload against available plant capacity, personnel skills, facilities, and funding to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve workload imbalances through measures such as workload reductions, task realignments, or scheduling deferments.
  • Develop and propose alternative strategies by assessing various operational factors, including resource allocation, policy adjustments, and management practices, to ensure mission objectives are met.
