About The Position

As a Production Control Specialist, your objective is to ensure timely delivery of all components to support production requirements. This role involves forecasting supplier requirements, validating cycle counts, reviewing and placing purchase orders, analyzing inventory daily, identifying potential problem part numbers, and tracking/updating systems like QAD. You will also maintain supplier performance metrics, communicate problems to suppliers, and follow up on corrective actions to prevent production interruptions. The specialist will monitor and maintain bills of material and the QAD system. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as the department's needs change. Safety responsibilities include working safely, reporting unsafe conditions, and actively participating in improving plant safety. Quality responsibilities involve offering improvement ideas, achieving plant quality objectives (100% on-time delivery, 0 PPM), and understanding customer needs. Housekeeping duties include maintaining a clean and organized facility and supporting 5S implementation. Continuous improvement and training involve active participation in Metalsa Model practices.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (Required)
  • QAD/ERP experience (Required)
  • Experience in new program coordination & engineering changes preferred (Required)
  • Experience in direct dealings with O.E.M., customers & suppliers (Required)
  • Participation in a significant role on the MOS, either deploying a practice, training in a tool or methodology, leading problem solving or other applied leadership experience (Required)
  • Proficient computer skills/Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • QAD, ERP or similar system; basic troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of freight arrangements, cycle counting procedures & bill of materials
  • Knowledge of manufacturing Bill of Material and MRP

Responsibilities

  • Forecasting supplier requirements
  • Cycle count validation and feedback
  • Review purchase orders and place order to suppliers
  • Analyze inventory daily
  • Identify potential problem part numbers
  • Track and update QAD, Customer's Systems: On QAD - Min/Max, Period orders, transit times, QPC
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics
  • Communicate problems to the appropriate supplier
  • Follow up with corrective actions/spot buys to ensure no interruptions in production
  • Monitor and maintain bills of material and QAD system
  • Additional responsibilities as required - this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change
