The Production Control Specialist will be responsible for managing inventories, analyzing inventory levels, evaluating production needs and demand, and releasing/managing job orders for production. This role ensures that capacity and inventory are considered in establishing the manufacturing plan and develops and implements a schedule that aligns with the material plan. The specialist will conduct inventory and capacity reviews, submit changes to the master scheduler, and ensure timely management of customer change requests. They will also manage and update the ERP system to smooth the ordering schedule and manage effective dates for ramp up/ramp down of material. The role involves interfacing with Manufacturing and Sales when customer ship dates are at risk, and with the shipping department to ensure customer on-time delivery. The specialist will develop, track, and report agreed-upon KPIs, manage material planning parameters, and expedite material as needed. Daily reports will be run to identify late material and adjust due dates. The position ensures business plan objectives and customer needs are met on-time, considering supplier lead times, daily production, capacity, and current inventory levels. Coordination of production activities related to product phase out, obsolescence, and new product introductions is also a key responsibility. The role supports shop floor operations by releasing and managing job orders and coordinates customer order expedites with the Sales Team and shop floor operations. Any other duties as assigned by the Materials Management Supervisor or Manager will also be performed.
