About The Position

The Production Control Specialist is responsible for coordinating materials, inventory, and production requirements to support efficient and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This position serves as a key link between Production, Procurement, Logistics, Suppliers, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems
  • Proficiency in data-analysis tools such as Excel

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring production schedules and material requirements
  • Identifying and resolving shortages, managing supplier delivery performance, maintaining inventory accuracy, and coordinating corrective actions for material or inventory discrepancies
  • Analyzing inventory levels, demand, Days on Hand (DOH), production changes, and supplier conditions to proactively identify risks that could affect production
  • Supporting cycle counting, physical inventory, inventory adjustments, warehouse and material-flow improvements, and investigation of inventory variances
  • Working to reduce excess and obsolete inventory, premium freight, expedited shipments, and other unnecessary logistics costs
  • Maintaining production control reports and KPIs, communicating material risks to management, coordinating engineering or production changes, supporting new product introductions, and participating in continuous-improvement activities
  • Using ERP/WMS systems and data-analysis tools such as Excel to monitor performance, identify root causes, develop countermeasures, and improve production control processes
