Production Control Planner
About The Position
dormakaba is seeking an onsite Production Control Planner in Chino, California. This role coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials between production cells and departments to support accurate, timely order execution and meet customer needs. The planner creates and distributes production schedules, works with other departments to track progress and determine completion dates, reviews inventory levels, and helps resolve production problems. The role keeps Customer Service informed about Sales Order completion status and confirms lead times for potential and actual orders. It also coordinates with Purchasing to ensure supplier-provided raw materials, parts, and components are available for production and to maintain safety stocks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience forecasting inventory purchasing requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting.
Nice To Haves
- Additional college credits or a degree, preferably in business or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of production and inventory management principles.
- Ability to utilize MRP and ERP systems.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain bills of material, routings, and work orders accurately.
- Maintain MRP data to support proper stocking levels and timely delivery of purchased parts and materials.
- Plan and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Coordinate with other planners to establish operation sequences and lead times that meet ship dates based on sales forecasts and customer orders.
- Plan the sequence of fabrication and assembly for manufacturing.
- Coordinate and expedite work and materials between production cells and departments.
- Confer with other departments to determine work progress and completion dates.
- Review inventory levels and participate in resolving production problems.
- Keep Customer Service updated on Sales Order completion status and confirm lead times for potential and actual orders.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure supplier materials, parts, and components are available to fulfill production needs and maintain safety stocks.
