Requirements

  • High School diploma and/or demonstrated work experience/internal training /testing
  • Forklift experience is required
  • Previous experience in a leadership role
  • Understanding and experience with deliveries and shipments within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to identify development needs of employees and provide coaching and mentoring
  • Strong morals and ethics, along with commitment to staff privacy
  • High understanding of floor plan/FIFO system
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multi-task
  • Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take initiative and recognize needs
  • Superior attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Professional appearance and manners

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operation of the material handlers
  • Ensure compliance of production schedules
  • Taking the lead in daily operations and coordinating with other departments
  • Shipping and Receiving as required on a daily basis
  • Ensure safety of daily operations by adhereing to health and safety guidelines
  • Evaluate process and practices and suggest improvements when required
  • Coordinating with vendors as required on a daily basis
  • Perform daily checks of all the equipment
  • Maintaining and managing inventory of all supplies
  • Move freight and stock to and from the loading area, delivery vehicles, storage areas, and production areas either manually or using equipment such as forklifts, and cranes
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product
  • Follow written and oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties
  • Documents product shipments
  • Maintains material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making operator repairs when needed
  • Utilize assisted and protective devices
  • Operates machinery such as booms, cranes, and forklifts to handle materials and stock
  • Support Company Health & Safety policies
  • Other duties, as required
