About The Position

We are presently seeking a Production Control Coordinator that will support operations by coordinating material availability and ensuring timely workflow within the optics production environment. Our facility in Boulder, Colorado has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specializes in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense. This site offers capabilities that include substantial design and engineering resources, comprehensive optical fabrication and coating capabilities, advanced assembly technology and an extensive in-house metrology lab.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Basic knowledge of optics manufacturing processes and terminology is a plus.
  • Experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and maintaining production schedules for optics manufacturing based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
  • Track and manage the availability of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies required for optics production. Work with procurement and warehouse teams to prevent production delays.
  • Monitor production progress on the shop floor, identify bottlenecks, and communicate with relevant teams to optimize throughput.
  • Maintain accurate production data including order status, inventory levels, and production metrics. Prepare daily/weekly reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure production complies with specifications and regulatory standards. Assist in implementing corrective actions for production issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between production, engineering, supply chain, and quality departments to ensure smooth production flow and timely resolution of issues.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
