About The Position

This position is responsible for operating a work cell, which may include multiple molding machines, secondary part operations, or other part-related processes. The operator must understand eye-path and part quality expectations, perform quality checks, maintain production rates, and follow all operational procedures and instructions.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 1000 lbs. on mold carts or crane system.
  • Must be able to work overtime on weekdays and on weekends when needed.
  • Must be able to follow setup instructions.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Must be able to read gages.
  • Must be able to follow a written schedule of numbers and dates.
  • Must complete Rockware Training and Paulson Training.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive at your work cell at the scheduled start time of your shift.
  • Participate in a pass down during the overlap of shifts.
  • Re-stock necessary supplies for the oncoming shift during overlap.
  • Remain at your work cell until the scheduled end time of your shift.
  • Operate the work cell you are assigned to. This may include multiple molding machines, secondary part operations, or other part related processes.
  • Understand eye-path and part quality expectations (per operations manual).
  • Perform 1 quality check at the beginning of your shift on each machine or part.
  • Maintain achievement of work cell expected rates. Report rate achievement issues to your supervisor.
  • If the molds that you are running require cleaning at the beginning of your shift, perform this task as designated by the work instructions.
  • Start up and shut down machines properly.
  • Accurately and timely input data into Rockware such as scrap and other production codes.
  • Contact the appropriate people regarding quality, machine and other work related issues.
  • Operate your cell following the instructions in the manual. Standard work must be followed to best make quality products.
  • Package parts per work instructions using counts and dexterity.
  • Follow proper labeling instructions.
  • Participate in plant house keeping.
  • Follow all Quality System procedures.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by your Supervisor or Team Leader.
