About The Position

Doncasters has an exciting opportunity for a Production Buyer to join their team in Long Beach, CA. This role involves processing internal requisitions, generating purchase orders, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely availability of consumables, materials, and services for production. The position requires updating and issuing supplier delivery schedules, progressing purchase orders, and clearing invoice queries to maintain supplier accounts. The company is a specialist manufacturer of complex precision cast components for aerospace engines and industrial gas turbines, employing over 3,000 people globally across 14 manufacturing facilities.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a buyer or in a related purchasing role.
• Working knowledge of company business systems and Microsoft applications.
• Highly motivated, a flexible and reliable individual with excellent communication skills.
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/combined education.
• One to three years' experience of procurement in manufacturing or a minimum of three years in a similar role.
• Skills to manage a complex supplier database.

Responsibilities

• Processing internal requisitions and generating purchase orders to place with suppliers and sub-contractors in line with business requirements.
• Updating and issuing supplier delivery schedules, including provision of forecast information to suppliers.
• Progressing of purchase orders to obtain acknowledgements and supplier commitment to both pricing and delivery dates.
• Supporting production and factory inquiries to ensure all consumables, materials, and services are available as and when required.
• Accurate and timely clearance of invoice queries to ensure supplier accounts are maintained.
