Production Business Relationship Manager (Remote)

Cover Whale Insurance Solutions
$61,200 - $85,000Remote

About The Position

Cover Whale is seeking a high-energy, results-oriented Production Business Relationship Manager (PBRM) to serve as the critical operator in our distribution engine. While our Business Development Associates (BDAs) hunt for new business and our Business Development Managers (BDMs) architect portfolio strategy, the Production Business Relationship Manager is the bridge that ensures every indicated dollar has a path to binding. The mission of this role is to maximize the conversion of indicated and quoted opportunities into bound premium by proactively managing the post-indication lifecycle. You will be the single point of accountability for agents post-indication, eliminating friction, enforcing timeline discipline, and protecting Underwriting bandwidth by ensuring only "bind-ready" deals are moving forward.

Requirements

  • Experience in the insurance or MGA sector is highly preferred, specifically in commercial auto/trucking/logistics
  • Familiarity with underwriting
  • At least 2 years of experience in business development or sales operations
  • Assertive & Decisive: You move quickly and take a firm stand on timelines without being abrasive.
  • Commercial Judgment: You know when to push a deal, when to pause, and when to disqualify to protect company resources.
  • Radical Ownership: You treat every indicated dollar as a personal responsibility to convert into bound premium.
  • Process-Oriented: You use structure and discipline to accelerate outcomes rather than introducing bureaucracy.
  • Analytical Mindset: You are comfortable using data (HubSpot, Excel/Google Sheets) to track KPIs and provide pipeline insights

Responsibilities

  • Drive "Conversion Excellence" by aggressively managing the mid-funnel pipeline to achieve target Indication-to-Bind conversion rates.
  • Maintain "Velocity & Momentum" by reducing the Average Days to Bind through the enforcement of urgency with partners.
  • Provide real-time visibility into deal status and clear next steps to prevent opportunities from decaying.
  • Act as the primary contact for agents post-indication, clearly communicating requirements, timelines, and expectations.
  • Educate partners on Cover Whale’s standards for a "bind-ready" submission to improve quality and reduce friction.
  • Hold agents accountable to timeline discipline to ensure high-velocity premium growth.
  • Validate submission completeness and confirm agent intent before moving deals to the next stage.
  • Disqualify non-viable or low-quality opportunities early to protect Underwriting capacity and resources.
  • Minimize "kickback" rates due to missing or incomplete data.
  • Maintain CRM accuracy across all managed deal stages (Indicated, Quoted, Pending Bind).
  • Provide weekly insights to leadership regarding pipeline aging and conversion trends.
  • Manage renewal retention strategies to achieve target retention conversion rates.

Benefits

  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • Comprehensive and affordable health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid life insurance, long-term disability, and EAP
  • 401(k) company match up to 4 %
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays
