About The Position

The Production Associate works at presses, assists machine operators, removes parts from presses, separates parts from scrap, assembles parts, stacks or packages parts, and operates equipment. This role requires adherence to all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. Regular attendance is essential. The associate works in a team environment, ensuring helpers understand their roles, necessary precautions, and the location of emergency stop buttons. They must understand and interpret company work orders and job control procedures, working efficiently and accurately to achieve and maintain 100% of goals. This includes getting or requesting materials, assembling totes, preparing skids, bags, and boxes for packaging. The role involves packaging a specific number of parts on skids, in bags, boxes, etc., labeling them, stacking bags of parts on racks or in appropriate packaging, and moving totes/skids of parts to a storage area or the next operation. The associate must ensure safety devices are in place and report any unsafe behavior or situation, while also being aware of their surroundings and responsible for keeping the area clean, tidy, and safe. Other tasks may be assigned by the Leader.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; read.
  • Attention to detail a must.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks without direct supervision.
  • Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, pre-algebra, and basic knowledge.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Gets or requests materials needed, assembles totes, prepares skids, bags and boxes for packaging.
  • Packages specific number of parts on skids, in bags, boxes, etc., labels them, stacks bags of parts on racks, or in appropriate packaging and moves totes/skids of parts to a storage area or to the next operation.
  • Ensures that safety devices are in place and reports any unsafe behavior or situation.
  • Is aware of activities in working surroundings and is responsible for keeping the area clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Leader.
