About The Position

This role involves working in a production environment with a focus on handling glass products. The responsibilities are divided into three main areas: Coater, Cutting Line, and Tempering. In the Coater section, associates will understand run schedules, ensure correct glass sizes, stage and unload glass onto conveyors and racks, and prepare racks for shipping using various Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs). For the Cutting Line, tasks include breaking out cut glass, removing scrap, and conveying glass to the tempering furnace, also using PITs. In the Tempering section, associates will stage glass onto a conveyor for the tempering furnace, measure and label glass with customer information, unload tempered glass onto racks, and convey it to packaging for shipment, again utilizing PITs.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass 10 panel pre-employment drug screen including cannabis due to the safety sensitivity of work.
  • Ability to pass post offer background check.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment agility testing.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand, walk, for 12-hour shifts.
  • Movement of materials and various glass products within the warehouse and workstations both manually and using various Powered Industrial Equipment.
  • Ability to understand and program automated production equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • In-house training and certification of power industrial trucks, forklift, overhead cranes, and various other powered equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Understand run schedules and ensure proper size of glass before loading on-line.
  • Stage product of glass on a coating machine loading conveyor.
  • Unload sheets of glass from conveyor onto rack.
  • Remove glass from racks, wrap, prepare and tag racks for shipping.
  • Use of various PIT’s (Powered Industrial Trucks).
  • Break out the cut-to-size pieces of glass from large sheets.
  • Remove scrap pieces of glass from cutting table and dispose of in designated waste receptacles.
  • Convey glass to tempering furnace.
  • Stage pieces of glass onto conveyer to be processed through tempering furnace.
  • Measure and label glass pieces at the end of the tempering process with customer information.
  • Remove tempered glass pieces from conveyor and place on racks.
  • Convey tempered glass to packaging station.
  • Prepare glass for shipment.
