About The Position

The Production Associate position is responsible for assisting mill operators, operating side loaders, and other warehouse duties as assigned. A strong work ethic and adherence to all safety processes is essential. This is a permanent, full-time position with potential for overtime. The shifts can be 8, 10, or 12 hours long depending on operational needs and the season. The base pay rate is $20.00 - $22.00 per hour with a $2.00 shift differential for the night shift.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
A minimum of one year operating manufacturing machinery and/or equipment
Good Communication Skills
Basic Computer Skills
Experience with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment and nail guns
Able to use of measuring gauges
Able to read a tape measure
Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment
Safely operating a variety of power tools including electric and pneumatic
Banding and clearing all lines and placing products in outside racks
Marks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts. Attaches identification tags as required for customer to have the ability locate correct parts.
Provide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste
Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area.
Inspect work visually for defects according to Quality Systems
Read a tape measure, write, and follow posted schedules
Team player and keeping safety first
May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader
Willing/able to work overtime
