First Shift Production Associate

About The Position

This role is responsible for efficiently operating plant equipment and inspection equipment used in the quality manufacturing of automobile directional control system components. Associates have the authority to stop the production process for quality concerns and safety issues, initiate Non-conformance reports, and document and disposition non-conforming material. The position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D., strong teamwork abilities, and preferably mechanical aptitude. The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and moderate noise levels, with occasional work in extreme temperatures or on slippery surfaces. Physical demands include prolonged standing, repetitive tasks, lifting up to 32 pounds, manual dexterity, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to differentiate colored wires and components. Safety equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear protection, must be worn.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D.
Must be a team player.
Mechanical backgrounds or mechanical abilities are preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate production equipment as assigned.
Perform quality checks as required in the product process.
Perform preventative maintenance as required.
Perform pre-operation checks on machines and equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Observe and follow all safety and security procedures.
Offer feedback and input for safety, quality, and process improvements.
Present and conduct self in a professional manner, treating teammates with dignity and respect.
Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Explain problems with machine/processes and take part in the corrective action of the issue.
Track and maintain daily Morning Market data/results.
