About The Position

This entry-level position in Avient's manufacturing area performs weigh-up or packaging duties in the production department. The role supports the production of high-quality products at the lowest possible cost while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements and following company policies and procedures. Work takes place in a manufacturing plant.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, use conversions, and work with units such as weight, volume, density, and distance.
• Forklift operator license.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in an industrial operations environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain the correct batch documentation and ensure the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area; obtain and weigh ingredients for mixing when required.
• Set up and start weigh-up or packaging machinery and check controls for compliance with operating and safety procedures.
• Notify appropriate personnel of issues, problems, or concerns in a timely manner.
• Safely process, batch off, screen, cut, package, and/or skid material to the correct size or container according to customer specifications.
• Supply and support Production Operators with the materials and functions needed to keep equipment operational.
• Clean machines as required.
• Complete and maintain required paperwork and documents.
• Follow safety and work rules and regulations and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
