About The Position

As a Production Associate, you will be responsible for transforming ceramic material into finished products. Your role is crucial in ensuring efficient and high-quality production processes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing/machine operation experience, preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and work orders, and apply mechanical skills to use required materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to use hand operated and power tools, and perform tasks with precision and manual dexterity.
  • Basic mechanical and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), and ability to apply form of measurement and other work material calculations utilizing a calculator.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use a variety of software applications systems and scanning technology to clock in and out of jobs, record labor hours, and track material usage.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Basic understanding of work/labor scheduling.
  • Communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person and in writing.
  • Effectively use a personal computer, basic calculator, and telephone.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate various production equipment, including vacuum forming machines, hot presses, and CNC machinery.
  • Interpret work orders and specifications to produce ceramic fiber insulating shapes accurately.
  • Set up jobs according to work order instructions and job prints, ensuring optimal production efficiency.
  • Perform quality control checks using precision measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Monitor production processes for out-of-tolerance readings and promptly report any discrepancies to supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, raw material usage, and part quantities to support inventory management.
  • Utilize computer terminals on the shop floor to clock in and out of jobs, ensuring proper time tracking.
  • Communicate effectively with supervision regarding any issues, barriers, or equipment malfunctions that may impact production goals.
  • Conduct basic Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks to ensure equipment cleanliness and operational readiness.
