About The Position

We are looking for a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) in Billerica, MA! This role is responsible for loading and unloading high-pressure and liquid cylinders on and off trucks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The associate will also be responsible for meeting all safety standards in the loading and unloading of cylinder gases per Airgas procedures. This position requires maintaining awareness of safety protocols for various gases, identifying cylinder sizes and contents by reading labels and color-coding, and managing a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment. The role also involves preparing cylinders for reuse by removing old labels and ensuring they are clean, and contributing to other team needs as assigned.

Requirements

High school degree or GED required.
Mechanical aptitude.
Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities.
A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience.
In lieu of specific industry experience, may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.

Responsibilities

Loading and unloading of high-pressure and liquid cylinders on / off trucks in compliance with federal, state, local regulations.
Meeting all safety standards in the loading and unloading of cylinder gases per Airgas procedures.
Inspecting cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures that ensure government, Airgas, and distributor safety benchmarks are met.
Maintaining awareness of safety protocols for various gases; identifies size and contents of cylinders by carefully reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.
Committed to all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of materials and cylinder gases.
Confidently manages a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment to support site operations.
Carefully loads cylinders on/off vehicles, using a hand truck or chain hoist, and maintains accurate records of the type and quantity of cylinders.
Ensures the secure loading/unloading of cylinders on/off pallets, confirming they are safely strapped in.
Examines returned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, or burns; takes initiative in performing minor maintenance of equipment and detailed inspection of cylinders prior to filling.
Moves cylinders to designated work areas using appropriate, safe work methods or equipment.
Identifies and segregates out-of-test or defective cylinders to maintain high quality standards.
Prepares cylinders for reuse by removing old labels and ensuring they are clean.
Contributes to other team needs as assigned to ensure a supportive work environment.
